BEFORE: Although the cabinets were out of style, the layout of this kitchen needed only minor tweaking. One problem was the dishwasher placement that made it impossible to put away dishes when the door was open.

AFTER: Rich dark stained alder cabinets were selected to accent the bright kitchen and hide children's fingerprints. Stainless steel appliances and an exposed hood fan were added for drama. The dishwasher was moved to a more functional location at the end of the peninsula.

BEFORE: Cabinets did not extend as high was they could wasting space. Tired laminate counters needed updating.

AFTER: Cabinets were extended almost to the ceiling providing lots of extra storage. A new granite countertop was chosen allowing for an undermounted extra deep stainless sink and gooseneck faucet to be installed.

BEFORE: Open glass shelving wasted another valuable storage opportunity.

AFTER: A 15" deep double pantry was created in place of the old shelving, providing ample room for storing food items and a recycling centre at easy access.

BEFORE: Dated flourescent lighting housed in a beam over the peninsula was never used because of the harsh light.

AFTER: The beam was filled in and modern pendants were chosen to highlight the peninsula. Custom floating shelves were created with baskets added to neatly store daily correspondence.
