... creates comfortable and inspiring living environments with a passion that extends back to preschool, when she painted the wicker furniture in her bedroom to match her Holly Hobbie bedding. Today, she draws on her Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology in her belief that the home is a reflection of the self. Her experience as a counsellor - listening and providing compassionate feedback - has helped Kim develop an approach to design that encourages her clients to fully express themselves in their own surroundings. Her work also extends to redesigned and 'staged' commercial office spaces, condominiums, industrial lofts and residential homes, and she has successfully operated her own consulting business for 10 years.

"I believe we infuse our personalities into everything we do and the home is no exception. My goal is to help people transform their living spaces into greater reflections of who they are, so that they can truly feel at home."

... finds inspiration in the pressure-cooker environment of tight budgets and even tighter deadlines. As an award-winning newspaper columnist and the former managing editor of an urban weekly newspaper, she applies her 20 years of editing skills to the homefront to create inviting spaces with room to breathe. She draws on her work in graphic design, a wide range of fine arts (and fine crafts), and her visual arts studies at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. She reflects on the challenge of small-space living in the 'Urban Dweller' column in Metro Vancouver every Thursday. (Check out the blog for past columns.)

"I get the most satisfaction out of making something out of nothing, of rediscovering a new life for old things. When I'm hit with challenges like limited budget, time, or space, that's when I get cooking."
